Normal Orbit
- Normally eye is placed in a cage of bones called the Orbit
- Any blow to the eye can lead to fracture of this bony cage
- The medial (towards the nose) and the floor are more frequently fractured
- Not all fractures need repair
- The need for surgery and the timing of surgery is best decided by the treating surgeon

Surgical Information
- Surgery is done outside the eye
- Patient can go home on the same day
- Patients’s eye will be patched for one day
- Some drops will be advised on the next day
- There might be some swelling around the eye which will resolve in about one week

Post-Surgery Information
- Eye will be patched for one day
- No head bath for one week
- Do not apply soap on the face for one week
- Clean the face with sponge/wet cloth
- Avoid dirty and crowed places for a week
